This past Monday Viva la Frida’s: Cafe’ Y Galeria announced their closing. GOODBYE!! I hate to give yall the bad news, Viva La Frida has sold and is no more. We have finally found a party that will buy 5901 N. Florida ave. Thank you so much to everyone that has helped us out over the years. Actually, sorry to say, there’s not a heck of a lot of places to eat for cheap in the Hyde Park/SoHo/Bayshore triangle . . . yes, like the Bermuda Triangle, it’s a place where dollars disappear never to be seen again. I ordered a chicken Torta, which is one of my indicators for an authentic Mexican food restaurant. My torta was delectable. I liked everything about Maya’s and think I need to try them out for breakfast someday. Maya’s is near [...] Matt at Florida Food Hound eats at Five Guys Famous Burgers and likes it. I had a Five Guys burger the other day and have to agree that they are tasty. Matt particularly liked the fresh, thick french fries.
