Metro I-4 News is a new project by Chuck Welch, who hosts the excellent Lakeland Local blog. In addition to daily pointing to “Today’s Five Must Read Articles from local newspapers,” Metro I-4 News boasts a collection of local bloggers offering commentary on regional issues. Among the contributors are Tommy Duncan from Sticks of Fire, Robert from Interstate4Jamming2, and Lorrie from Tales From the Delk Side,
This is definitely a local group blog to keep an eye on.

The region around I-4 is one of the fastest growing in Florida. Metro I-4 News is a site dedicated to bringing together the best hyperlocal blogging from the corridor.
We officially started publication on March 1, 2008. Over the next few weeks we hope to grow until we reach 12-20 very consistent hyperlocal bloggers. Our goal is to have a good mix of blogs from around the region, and around the political spectrum. If you know of a good blog we’ve missed, please leave a comment.
In addition, we’ll publish links to main stream media articles of interest. What you won’t see is a lot of widgets, doodads, and geegaws. This publication will stay focused on the text. We hope you enjoy the approach.
