Amazing! I couldn’t believe my eyes until it played again in slow motion.
On the one hand, the NYC cops have been oddly adversarial to Critical Mass, which is why you can see several of the riders carrying their own digital video recorders.
On the other hand, there are people who participate in Critical Mass rides who are, how shall I phrase this delicately, assholes.
While just looking at the video the cop seems to be acting like a schmuck, it’s possible the cyclist started it. NYC cops acting like schmucks, however, is not outside the realm of possibility.
A few years ago a friend was telling me about a Critical Mass event in Tampa where the riders decided to ride through a shopping mall. I hope the most recent participants are more civilized
