2010 Re/Creating Tampa |
||||

We stumbled on Cafe Hey on Friday. The accidental finding, combined with reading this post that morning was taken as a sign that we should probably eat there.
I have to say, I really enjoyed the environment, and the two items that I tried were better than I expected.
The portabella and brie soup was a bit odd to look at; I guess I just assumed a puree, but the chunks of vegetables and brie proved to be a pleasant texture with great flavor.
I also tried the Mi Cubano sandwich, which is sort of a cross between a Cuban sandwich and a Bahn Mi roll. Roasted pork on pressed Cuban bread with cheese and a carrot-jalapeno slaw is quite an effective combination.
Will definitely be back.
I work around the corner from here and it is very good. My favorite sandwhich (when they have it) is the Rick Ross. It is delicious.
great food, great place to see art of tampa artist.
I agree. I finally made it there yesterday and thought it was great! The food, coffee, and ambiance were all wonderful.
