I was checking out the Washington Post’s Congress votes database and noticed they had a votes with party category.
I decided that the person who voted least often with their party would be Florida’s maverick Rep!
And the winner is…
Florida Maverick Representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen voted with the Republican party only 84.7 percent of the time.
Congratulations Representative Ros-Lehtinen!
While most of her opposition seems to be procedural (see record of her votes here), Ros Lehtinen does stand out as being a supporter of LGBT rights. The Human Rights Campaign endorsed her re-election last year.
