Pie of the Month Club features some disturbing pie recipes, though they insist the pies are delicious.

Tic Tac Pie

1 graham cracker pie crust
Two 8 oz packages of cream cheese – softened
2 eggs
3/4 cup sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 teaspoon grated lemon peel
4 boxes of orange TicTac™ candies

Amish Sauerkraut Surprise Custard Pie

1 crust for a 9″ pie, unbaked
2 1/2 c. whole milk
3/4 c. drained, rinsed, chopped sauerkraut
1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. salt

Mrs Nixon’s FLorida Lime Pie

1 cup sugar
1 tsp lime zest
¼ tsp salt
4 egg whites, room temp
¼ oz plain gelatin
½ cup water
1 fully baked 9” pie shell
½ cup lime juice
4 egg yolks
whipped cream to top

combine ½ c sugar, salt, gelatin and water in top of double boiler. Combine lime juice,with egg yolks, then wisk into gelatin mixture. Cook ~ 7 minutes over hot water or until gelatin dissolves and mixture thickens. Remove from heat and stir in zest. Place the pan in a bowl of ice water, stirring as the mixture cools. In separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff, gradually add remaining ½ c sugar, beating constantly. Fold cooled lime/yolk stuff into the whites. Turn into the prebaked shell, and refrigerate until cool (several hours). Serve with whipped cream.
