Anonymous laments the changes s/he has noticed at Moxie’s
“Moxie’s was excellent when they first opened downtown - original sandwich ideas, good service and high quality food. They seem to have hit a huge dropoff, though, sometime in the last 4 months. I used to eat there a few times a week, but little by little I know longer eat there at all. The reason: funny looking turkey, fatty ham and roast beef that looks like it came form Arby’s. Not sure what happened, but it’s been a huge disapointment. Hope they return to the better quality.”

Tony points us to some new Indian restaurants -
“Two new ones in the USF area are quite good. My favorite is Kiran located in the plaza on the southeast corner of 56th and Fowler. Just tried last week: Coriander, which recently took up residence in the old Cafe Don Jose (a little farther south on the east side of 56th) It has to be the most seating of any Indian restaurant in the area. My Scottish colleague, who surely knows his curry, was very enthusiastic that Coriander is the best Indian he’s had in The States. That’s good enough for me!”

Here’s an update on my comment: Went to Kiran yesterday (11/16) and found a sign on the door that read, “We closed, we will reopen again soon”. Whatever that means.
Also, not sure what is up with El Taconazo (aka the Taco Bus on Hillsborough at Nebraska) this week. It has been closed for repairs? It was quite a scene as about 20 sad folks were milling about on Wednesday wondering where they would get their carne asada fix for the day!
Thanks for the update. Kiran and Coriander have been in the back of my mind since you mentioned them. I suppose should get to Coriander sooner rather than later.
And, perhaps today would be a good day for a visit to the Taco Bus, just to check up on them.
Dave, I don’t think you have to worry about Coriander. That place is a madhouse! There must be 50 tables in there and there is a wrap-around line for the buffet throughout lunchtime. Their chicken tikka is superb!
Could it be Cilantro’s? (rather than Coriander’s)
We went to a Cilantro’s Indian cuisine place on Monday night on 56th street). Turns out that they’re closed on Monday. Ah well, maybe next time.
