My apologies for lack of posts. I’m not sure if I mentioned this, but I’m a grad student. Between now and the 12th I have two papers to finish, and a presentation to cobble together. I also have to prepare for an exam on the 12th.
But, the blog isn’t dead. The future holds more [...]

Tacanazo, the Taco Bus – New Hours
I just visited the Taco Bus for lunch and they have a sign announcing new hours.
They are now open 7 days a week, 7am to 9pm. Mondays and Tuesdays just got a little more delicious.
And the Winners Are…
The winner in the best diner run-off is Three Coins, and the winner for best fish sandwich is Crab Shack. I’ll put up a new run-off poll, and some updates this evening.
Salud, y’all!
TNT’s Southern Spice is DY-NO-MITE
This past Saturday I found myself FINALLY getting to try TNT’s Southern Spice. It was, by far, some of the best down-home Southern cooking I’ve had in a long time. Rather than take up a considerable portion of the Eating Tampa blog, you can read my full experience here.
The gist is, EAT AT THIS [...]

Lupton’s BBQ Buffet
I love Lupton’s Fat Man’s BBQ & Country Cooking.
Lupton’s has been a Tampa institution for almost 40 years. Though I’d driven by it a few times, and idly noted that I should stop in some time, it really first came to my attention as I was writing the blurb for its win as Best Sweet [...]
Three Coins Has A New Owner….again
Three straight 18 hour days will kill a person, as I almost found out. Business is good right now (no complaints), but it can take a toll. You begin to loose touch with friends, national events, and loved ones. 3 days can make a person feel like they have been exiled on a deserted island [...]
A Pretty Damn Cool Baking CookBook
Every once in awhile, C & C will take on a food stylist job. It’s super easy money and you get to be all creative. So, when I got a call last week for a job on Friday, I thought “No biggie. Bake a bunch of cookies and throw some Fall colors around.” The job [...]
Thanksgiving: Tampa Style
It’s that time of year again. My favorite time. The leaves begin to turn shades of amber, gold, and red. The air becomes crisp and tickles your nose with swift sweeps of cool air. The geese can be seen flying south, destine for only what we may assume as a tropical paradise. Oh wait, we [...]

More of the Reader’s Poll winner blurbs have been written. Soon they’ll all be done, and linked! Holy cow, it takes a long time to write blurbs.
There are some new run-offs in the right-hand column. The winners of the latest run-off polls were -

gnatv.com- Eating my backyard March 14, 2010Spring is arriving shortly and I have lots of plans for my backyard garden. Ever since we attempted a garden show, or at least a how too on the basics, I've been fooling around in my back yard with different plants and techniques for growing edibles and what have you. I found out that winter is a good time in Florida to grow all sorts of yummy stuffs, m […]Grayson

- Liquor Store Diary: Tip Cup January 28, 2010There is a tip cup that sits near the debit keypad. When I was being trained, I asked why a clerk would need a tip cup. The girl training me said that she thought it was crazy too. When she took it away, people asked where the tip cup was. I usually end up spending my tip on soda and food during my shift anyways. lsd2-p1.jpg read more […]Chris
- Liquor Store Diary: You Are Not As Smooth As You Think You Are, Drunkie January 27, 2010Some of you motherfuckers out there think you are witty, clever, suave and other awesome things when you are drunk. You are not. The server is not impressed by the pick up line you just yelled at her, the bar backs are not impressed by your ability to bump into things and not feel pain until tomorrow, and the liquor store clerk is annoyed that you can't […]Chris
- Liquor Store Diary: Can You Spot Me? January 25, 2010Sometimes people come in to the liquor store and want to buy something they don't have money for. "Hey bro, I'm short ten cents for that blunt. Can you spot me?" "No." "Oh ok." lsd2-p_1.jpg read more […]Chris
