I love Lupton’s Fat Man’s BBQ & Country Cooking.
Lupton’s has been a Tampa institution for almost 40 years. Though I’d driven by it a few times, and idly noted that I should stop in some time, it really first came to my attention as I was writing the blurb for its win as Best Sweet Tea in the reader’s poll. Despite its homey atmosphere, and old-school tradition, Lupton’s is savvy enough to have a website with plenty of images of their buffet. That bit of promotional wisdom is what finally prompted me to pay a visit for lunch last week.
Technically I arrived for the early bird dinner, which begins at 2pm, but there’s little difference between the lunch menu and the early bird dinner menu. Lupton’s is buffet, not gourmet. Don’t go if you’re looking for the highest quality food, but it’s the perfect place if you’re looking for a great quantity of comfort.

I can’t wait to try the all-you-can-eat breakfast.

luptons was once the place to go,but it is now famous for serving dried out leftovers and poor quality day old food,the zephyrhills location is known as the dumping ground of food that wasn’t eaten from last weeks catering.
the restaurant only gets cleaned when the health department visits.
the worst food in town.
I think it’s fair to say that people don’t go there for the quality of the food.
But, the worst food in Tampa? I don’t know….
