We made it to Cilantro Indian Cuisine on 56th street tonight. For a first visit it was everything I could have wanted in a new Indian restaurant. We started with a samosa, which was wonderful, made even tastier with the spicy curry. JB had the Vegetable Malai Kofta, and I had the Tandoori Mixed Grill. The Malai Kofta is veggie version of the more traditional kofta meatballs. The mixed grill came with shrimp, lamb, chicken, and, I believe, goat. The curries were all great. The nan was great. The meal was great. The service was prompt and welcoming. The next time I go I’ll check out the spiciness levels, and maybe try a paneer dish.
Cilantro seems to be an import from Jacksonville. Unfortunately, their webpage doesn’t mention anything about their Tampa location. I do know that they are not open on Mondays. I assume that they have a lunch buffet.
Here is a .pdf of their menu, though this version may be slightly out-of-date.
