Jerry asks -
“I have a real hankerin’ for a “Chicago Style” pepper and egg (scrambled eggs with green peppers on Italian/French bread) sandwich. Of course, this would be accompanied by a splash of ketchup/hot sauce and a dollop of giardiniera. Any suggestions?”
I don’t have a clue. As eater BZ noted a few months ago - “Tampa doesn’t know how to do breakfast.”
How about you readers? Who in Tampa serves a Chicago-style pepper and egg sandwich?
UPDATE: Well the folks I emailed couldn’t think of a place, and Joe Positive offered in the comments -
The tiny place at the corner of Nebraska and Chelsea (Sid’s, I think it’s called now) used to make a great egg-and-pepper sandwich. Don’t know if they still do, though.
Good luck in your search, Jerry. If you find something, let us know.
