The hamburger fatty melt is a burger with two grilled cheese sandwiches as the buns.
It must be close to lunchtime because that’s looking really good.

The purpose of this burger search was to be a tie-breaker. Each poll for best burger led to a deadlock, so, as editor, it seemed reasonable that I should try several of the local favorites and serve as a tie-breaker. I have, and I’m going with the Green Iguana burger.

Today was the first chance I had to get over to Pane Rustica to try their burger. Creative Loafing’s Brian Ries recently crowned the Pane Rustica burger as the best in Tampa, with The Kitchen’s burger as a close runner-up.

Tampa I Am writes that the burger at Green Iguana “was cooked perfectly medium and about a 1/2 pound of juicy flavorful beef, topped with cooked onion, avacado, and Caribbean spices, on a very soft fresh baked bun, and came with very fresh and hot crinkle cut fries.”
