Nicki’s is my new favorite place to eat breakfast. Or it would be if it were a little closer. A few weeks ago JB and I had to run a weekend errand in Carrollwood. We dropped into Nicki’s for a late breakfast. I liked it so much the following weekend I demanded we return. It turns [...] This is the reason for starting blogs like this, and running polls like this. I’m not sure how I’d never heard of Pach’s Place before this, but once it was brought to my attention, I see that people have been talking about it, I just haven’t been paying attention. Now that I know what I’m [...] I may have to move to SoHo. This morning we ventured down south and ate breakfast at Daily Eats. Daily Eats definitely has that SoHo hipster atmosphere, and seems kind of fancy for a diner, but the breakfast was great and I’ll probably be eating the leftovers for lunch. I went simple this morning with the [...] I ate at Three Coins twice this last week to check it out. It’s not terribly great. On my first visit I had a burger, which came thoroughly cooked, and slathered with mayo. My second meal was a breakfast burrito, which has the sort of flaky tortilla generally found in your low-end frozen burritos. Regardless, I [...] Savvy Jack’s reminds me of a European bed and breakfast, and I’m looking forward to going back more for the cozy decor than the food. Savvy Jack’s is located in a strip shopping mall (surprise!) in Temple Terrace, on 56th just south of Fowler. They promote themselves as “southern gourmet,” but I haven’t eaten there [...] I see that Florida Food Hound reviewed the Taco Bus last autumn and gave it a “good, but not great.” In the short time I’ve been here, I’ve developed a deep affection [...] As JB mentioned earlier, her folks came into town, and we had to feed them while they were here. Since neither of us cooks much, that meant a lot of eating out. Mimi’s Cafe for breakfast was tasty, but for some reason they put the four of us at a particularly small table, while reasonably sized [...] This morning we decided to head to Guadalajara (on Hillsborough) for breakfast since I’m still looking for the perfect Tex-Mex breakfast place. We arrived at 9:45 only to learn that, despite their neon “Open” sign lighting up the window, they were closed and would open at 10. Instead of asking us if we wanted some [...] JB and I ate at Mimi’s Cafe a couple weeks ago during the break. Our plan was to just get coffee at the bookstore, but we stopped in at Mimi’s on impulse.
